restless legs syndrome

n :  a nervous disorder of uncertain pathophysiology that is characterized by restlessness of the legs usu. as evidenced by aching, crawling, or creeping sensations in them esp. at night or when lying down and that is often accompanied by insomnia and by involuntary twitching of the legs during sleep - called also restless legs  .
