Schuff·ner's dots
n pl : punctate granulations present in red blood cells invaded by the tertian malaria parasite - compare MAURER'S DOTS Schüff•ner, Wilhelm August Paul (1867-1949), German pathologist. In 1904 Schüffner described small round granules appearing in the red blood cells of malarial patients; they are now known as Schuffner's dots.
