Küm·mell's disease

n :  a syndrome following compression fracture of a vertebra that involves spinal pain, intercostal neuralgia, and motor disturbances of the legs
 
Kümmell, Hermann (1852-1937),
German surgeon. Kümmell discovered in 1891 a syndrome that results from traumatic spondylitis and published a description of Kümmell's disease in 1892.
