adenosine deaminase

n :  an enzyme which catalyzes the conversion of AMP, ADP, and ATP to inosine, whose deficiency causes a form of severe combined immunodeficiency by inhibiting DNA replication in lymphocytes, and whose marked increase is associated with a mild chronic hemolytic anemia - abbr. ADA .
