Feh·ling's solution

or  Feh*ling solution  n :  a blue solution of Rochelle salt and copper sulfate used as an oxidizing agent in a test for sugars and aldehydes in which the precipitation of a red oxide of copper indicates a positive result
 
Fehling, Hermann von (1812-1885),
German chemist. Fehling is known for his work in analytical and industrial chemistry. In 1848 he published an article on analyzing the quantity of sugar in urine in which he introduced his test for the determination of reducing sugars using a solution that he formulated.
