n :  any of several metabolic disorders (as McArdle's disease or Pompe's disease) that are characterized esp. by abnormal deposits of glycogen in tissue, are caused by enzyme deficiencies in glycogen metabolism, and are usu. inherited as an autosomal recessive trait .
