Schnei·de·ri·an membrane

n :  modified mucous membrane forming the epithelial part of the olfactory organ
 
Schnei•der, Conrad Victor (1614-1680),
German anatomist. Schneider was professor of medicine at Wittenberg. In 1660 he published a work on catarrh in which he described the nasal mucous membrane, now known as the Schneiderian membrane.
