swine influenza

n :  an acute contagious febrile disease of swine marked by severe coughing and inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, sometimes passing into bronchopneumonia but rarely fatal, and caused by interaction of a specific virus introduced by the lungworm (Metastrongylus elongatus) of swine and a bacterium of the genus Haemophilus (H. suis) related to that causing human influenza - called also swine flu  .
