Os·ler's maneuver

or  Os*ler maneuver  n :  a sphygmomanometric procedure of disputed usefulness in detecting false cases of hypertension in the elderly that involves inflating the cuff above the systolic blood pressure and that is held to indicate pseudohypertension if the arteries remain palpable presumably due to inelasticity and sclerosis
