n :  an often fatal febrile disease esp. of young cattle and sheep that occurs under conditions of unusual exposure or exhaustion, is marked by high fever and pneumonia, and is associated with the presence of bacteria (esp. genera Pasteurella and Mycoplasma) or viruses .
