Joh·ne's bacillus

n :  a bacillus of the genus Mycobacterium (M. paratuberculosis) that causes Johne's disease
 
Johne, Heinrich Albert (1839-1910),
German bacteriologist. Johne developed a method for staining bacterial capsules in 1894. He discovered Johne's bacillus in 1895.
