n :  the chemical reaction that takes place in the van den Bergh test when bilirubin is present in the blood
 
Van den Bergh, Albert Abraham Hijmans (1869-1943),
Dutch physician. Van den Bergh introduced in 1913 a test for the presence of bilirubin in the blood.
