fowl cholera

n :  an acute contagious septicemic disease of birds that is marked by fever, weakness, diarrhea, and petechial hemorrhages in the mucous membranes, is caused by a bacterium of the genus Pasteurella (P. multocida syn. avicida), and is highly destructive to all types of domestic poultry and most wild birds - called also chicken cholera  .
