
Kien·böck's disease
n : osteochondrosis affecting the lunate bone - called also lunatomalacia Kien•böck, Robert (1871-1953), Austrian roentgenologist. Kienböck pioneered in radiology. From 1910-11 he published descriptions of dislocation of the hand and a slowly progressive chronic osteitis involving the lunate bone. The latter is now known as Kienböck's disease.
