Fo·ley catheter

n :  a catheter with an inflatable balloon tip for retention in the bladder
 
Foley, Frederic Eugene Basil (1891-1966),
American urologist. Foley in 1937 introduced an operation for stricture at the junction of the ureter and the kidney pelvis. The operation entailed the insertion of a rubber catheter now known as the Foley catheter.
