Mil·roy's disease

n :  a hereditary lymphedema esp. of the legs
 
Milroy, William Forsyth (1855-1942),
American physician. Milroy specialized in internal medicine and was an authority on diseases of the heart and lungs. His most important topic of research was chronic hereditary edema of the legs. From one patient he was able to trace the disease back through six generations of his family, learning that 22 individuals had been affected with the edema. He published his findings in 1892.
