Meh·lis' gland

n :  one of the large unicellular glands surrounding the ootype of a flatworm and possibly playing a part in eggshell formation : also  :  the group of such glands in a worm
 
Mehlis, Karl Friedrich Eduard (1796-1832),
German physician. Mehlis was a practicing mine physician. His lasting contributions were in helminthology.
