Mohs, Frederic Edward (b 1910), American surgeon. Mohs served for many years as professor of surgery and chief of the chemosurgery clinic at the University of Wisconsin. He discovered and developed the clinical use of chemosurgery for the microscopically controlled excision of cancer of the skin, lip, parotid gland, and other external structures.
