Mal·lo·ry's triple stain

n :  a stain containing acid fuchsin, aniline blue, and orange G that is used esp. for the study of connective tissue - called also Mallory's stain 
 
Mallory, Frank Burr (1862-1941),
American pathologist. Mallory spent almost all of his career on the staff of Harvard Medical School and in the pathology department of Boston City Hospital. A pioneer in histopathology and pathologic techniques, he developed many differential tissue stains that came into wide use. He introduced his stain for connective tissue in 1900.
