experimental allergic encephalomyelitis
n : an inflammatory autoimmune disease that has been induced in laboratory animals and esp. mice by injecting them with diseased tissue from affected animals or with myelin basic protein and that because of the similarity of its pathology to multiple sclerosis in humans is used as an animal model in studying this condition - abbr. EAE - called also experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis .
