omep·ra·zole

n :  a benzimidazole derivative C17H19N3O3S that inhibits gastric acid secretion and is used in the short-term treatment of duodenal ulcers as well as the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux, erosive esophagitis, and pathological hypersecretory disorders (as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome) - see PRILOSEC  .
