periodontitis complex

n :  a rare form of chronic periodontitis which is characterized by deep and irregular pocketing around the teeth and by resorption of alveolar bone in a vertical direction and which is sometimes regarded as periodontosis complicated by the occurrence of inflammatory lesions .
