Romanowsky, Dimitri Leonidovich (1861-1921), Russian physician. Romanowsky made important studies of the malaria parasite. In an 1891 monograph on the parasitology and treatment of malaria, he introduced the original eosin-methylene blue stain for blood smears and malaria parasites.
